Our top 5 most frequently asked questions

Beach view home with Roller Shades.

Purchasing window treatments can be a daunting task for many people, especially when you have unanswered questions. Good news! Our Design Advisors are here to help answer your questions, address your concerns, and guide you to a selection that fits your home and your lifestyle.

1. I need window coverings but I don’t want to lose my view. What should I do?

First, it’s important to remember that the purpose of window coverings is to block your view. But, that doesn’t mean it’s always blocked. Some great options you can use are blinds or sheer material shades. Blinds let you raise, low, and tilt the slats for control over how much you see. Sheer material shades, such as select Cellular Shades, select Roller Shades, and other shade options, let you see through the material while still providing some privacy and light control.

2. I may not cover the living room windows. What do you recommend?

Short answer, yes. While it’s tempting to leave common areas of the house uncovered, almost all of our clients return in the future to add these windows. Whether it’s to add privacy or to cut down on the glare coming into the home, we always recommend covering windows where you and your family will spend a lot of time. Covering everything at once usually gives you better pricing and prevents differences in dye lots and discontinued items.

3. I’m on a budget. What are my options?

Faux Wood Blinds are a beautiful classic option and can be done on a budget. We also offer Faux Wood Essentials, Cellular Essentials, Roller Essentials, and Metal Essentials. These are quick, easy, and budget-friendly DIY window covering options.

4. This is going to be a rental. What is renter-friendly?

We’ve all heard the horror stories of renters, and to a degree, it’s prudent to prepare for replacements and repairs with short-term rentals. Some of our best options for rentals are Faux Wood Blinds, Cellular Shades, and Plantation Shutters.

5. How long do window coverings take?

This really depends on what product you’re ordering, your selections, and how many windows you’re ordering. At the time of this writing, a good estimate is 2-4 weeks. We keep you up-to-date along the way and can provide a more accurate estimate at the time of your estimate.
